On 9 March, 2005 the largest international Exhibition of Information Technologies CeBIT 2005 started its work in Hanover. Opening ceremony was attended by German Chancellor Mr. Gerhard Shreder as well as other officials and world leaders in ICT field. Mr. Shreder also made a statement during the opening ceremony. The basic issue of the exhibition is the globalization in the ICT field as well as the issue of the creation a unique market in the European Union which could successfully compete with USA and Asia markets.
The exhibition is attended by about 6500 participants from 70 countries. For the first time Azeri company SINAM – ICT leader of Azerbaijan - participates at the exhibition. SINAM presents the following developments of the company: Customs Registration and Control System (CRCS), Personalized Insurance Accounting System, Legal Entities Registry, Electronic Archives Global Engine (EAGLE), Human Resources Management System, Secure Information Transmission System etc. In the first day of the exhibition the representatives of Iran, Hungary, and Ghana showed their interests in the products of the company. Bilateral negotiations on cooperation in the field of manufacturing the ICT products were held with the representatives of Taiwan as well.
On March 10, the president of SINAM Company Mr. Elchin Aliyev was invited to ICT World Club Meeting held in the framework of the CeBIT Exhibition. The main idea of this meeting was the intention of organizers to offer an exclusive platform for encounters and the exchange of ideas between Top Managers of the High Tech Industry. The meeting called "Managing Complexity – Changing Business Models in a Pan-European Environment" was attended by Mr. Jorg Menno Harms - HP member of Supervisory Board, Vice-President BITCOM, as well as by Mr. Hans Ulrich Maerki - Chairman and General Manager EMEA, IBM EMEA, Mr. Juhani Antilla - Chairman of the Board, Ascom Holding AG, Mr. Patrick de Smedt - Chairman EMEA, Microsoft Europe.
During the bilateral meetings held with representatives of different companies Mr. Elchin Aliev gave brief information on development of ICT industry in Azerbaijan as well as on the potential and priorities of Azerbaijan in the field of ICT. After the meetings many of the foreign companies showed the big interest to Azerbaijan and the prospects of cooperation were outlined.
